Tafarn traddodiadol ger yr Afon Dyfrdwy yn Llangollen gyda dewis gwych o cwrw ac bwydlen sydd yn cynnwys amrywiaeth fawr o cigydd lleol, peis ac cynhwysion eraill. Roedd darn gwreiddiol o’r tafarn wedi eu adeiladu yn yr 1700aum a chafodd ei defnyddio fel ty cwrt am gyfnod lle mi wnaeth “Hanging Judge Geoffreys” cynnal ei cwrt. Am gyfnod mi roedd yna lawnt fowlio tu allan i’r dafarn, ac mi fydd bowlwyr yn archebu ei diodydd o’r bar gan defnyddio’r tiwb siarad. Mae’r tafarn wedi’i enwi ar ol un o’r Merched o Llangollen, Sarah Ponsonby a oedd yn byw yn Plas Newydd, Llangollen a sydd ar agor i’r cyhoedd, taith cerdded bychain o’r tafarn.

A traditional pub on the banks of the River Dee in Llangollen with a fantastic selection of cask ales and a menu featuring a wide range of locally produced meats, pies and other ingredients. The original part of the pub was built in the 1700s, and it was used as a court house for some time where “Hanging Judge Geoffreys” held court. For a while there was also a bowling green outside the pub, and bowlers would order drinks from the bar using an old fashioned speaking tube. The pub is named after one of the Ladies of Llangollen, Sarah Ponsonby who resided at Plas Newydd, Llangollen and who’s home is now open to the public, a short walk from the pub.
