From the outside you may not guess there was anything unusual about Porth y Dŵr, but open the door and find the Secret House hidden inside! This timber framed building dating from 1456 retains many of its original features, making it a unique and fascinating self-catering cottage like no other. Enjoy the morning sun in the Tudor panelled bedchamber, relax in front of an open fire in the cosy lounge, play traditional games or browse through the books in the snug. Stay at the Secret House and leave the modern world behind!
Porth y Dŵr has a generous open plan lounge/dining room with open fire, and a fully fitted kitchen on the ground floor; both open onto a small sunny courtyard. The large master bedroom has a king size bed, an additional single bed can be provided by arrangement, the second bedroom has two single beds. Bathroom with bath and wash hand basin, separate WC with wash hand basin and shaver point.
The cottage is comfortably and traditionally furnished, in keeping with its historic nature. Staying at Porth y Dŵr is a get-away-from-it-all experience, so there is no TV, wi fi, games consoles or music centres; instead, relax and recharge in an atmosphere of calm, play some of our board games, do jig-saws, read a book – or sit by the fire and chat!
